Missions isn’t for me. I mean, mission ministry is important and I support it, but it’s not for me. I’m not called, you know? That’s what I believed from the time I started following Jesus in high school, until toward the end of my college career.

“Missions.” It was some kind of mysterious, separate category; like missionaries were the “Special Forces” of Christianity or something. I didn’t want to get into that. I had my own plans for how I was going to try to honor God with my life.

While I was in college, I learned about unreached people groups. An unreached people group is a cultural or ethnic group (think: tribe, tongue, nation) that is 2% or less Christian, often 0%! Did you know there are around 2.9 billion people who live as unreached people groups? I didn’t.
